The Game Publishers Association, an industry trade organization, has elected its 2006-07 Board of Directors.


Tony Hellmann of Technomancer Press is Executive Director. Patrick Sweeney of Firefly Games is Deputy Executive Director and Director of Communications. Ann Dupuis of Grey Ghost Press is Director of Finance. Keith Sears of Heraldic Game Design is Director of Online Services. And Jason Walters of  Hero Games is Director of Member Services.


The board also has appointed Marcy Ganow of Tabletop Adventures, Dave Wainio of Three Sages Games, and David Mattingly of Blackwyrm Games as associate directors.


The Game Publishers Association is a professional organization of publishers and manufacturers in the adventure and family game industry. Our mission is to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, offer mutual support and assistance, further the entrepreneurial aims of our members, and collectively promote our companies, industry, and hobby. The GPA consists of 150+ publishers, conventions, printers, freelancers, retailers, distributors, and others affiliated with the hobby game industry.

Board of Directors Greetings members!

Your Board of Directors would like to amend the GPA Guidelines. This requires a vote of the membership through a general election.

The issue in question is the following:

The GPA Board of Directors proposes to amend the following GPA Guidelines:
 
"A. Elections
1. Annual elections shall be held to elect members of the Board of Directors at the close of each calendar year.
a. The Board of Directors shall make official notice of the start of the nominations phase no later than the second Monday in November.
b. Voting shall begin not later than the first Monday in December."
To read:
"A. Elections
1. Annual elections shall be held to elect members to the Board of Directors October 1 of each calendar year.
a. The Board of Directors shall make official notice of the start of the nominations phase no later than the second Monday in August.
b. Voting shall begin not later than the first Monday in September."
VOTING WILL BEGIN MONDAY, AUGUST 28th. All general members will be emailed a link to the ballot form on that date. Voting will close on Monday, September 11. Results will be announced as soon as they are tabulated and have been reviewed by your Board of Directors.

Board of Directors

Greetings GPA members:

I hope everyone had a good time at Gen Con. I have an announcement for everyone:

Nominations for the GPA Board of Directors are now open.

This may come as a suprise, since our terms normally end at the close of the year.

We are in the process of organizing a general election to amend the guidelines to start terms on Oct. 1. The amendment requires that notification of the start of nominations be, well, now.
